An “invasion” of warm aerial masses is forecast to affect Greece as of Wednesday, December 14, bringing temperatures much higher than the seasonal average, up to 25 degrees Celsius in some regions in the South.
The atmospheric circulation that will prevail in the Central Mediterranean from the middle of the week will result in the transfer of hot aerial masses to the country and the temperature rise to values well above the usual for the season.
According to the latest prognostic data of the National Observatory of Athens, the rise in temperature will start from the northwest on Wednesday 14/12, while in the rest of the country it will be felt from Thursday 15/12.
The high temperatures are expected to prevails until Sunday December 18, 2022.
The following video shows the forecast of the deviation of the temperature from the average climatic values of the season at a height of 1500 meters until the evening of Monday 12/19.
The areas where the temperature will be higher than the average climate value are shaded in orange/red and the areas where it will be lower in blue/blue. It is noted that the final configuration of the temperature near the surface of the ground depends on many other factors such as cloud cover, phenomena, wind, etc.
