Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (“Euronet”), a leader in the provision of payment services on a global scale, announces the launch of a new ATM Network in selected locations in Greece, which allows cardholders of all banks and financial institutions to carry out cash withdrawals without ATM fees.
The creation of the new ATM Network is part of the company’s wider initiative to offer immediate access to cash to all our fellow citizens, both in urban centres and in the periphery, as banks are reducing their physical presence in both branches and ATMs in the territory.
Euronet’s new ATM Network is easily recognisable with distinct branding and carries the special marking ” ATM WITHOUT CHARGE” and ” FREE CASH WITHDRAWALS”. The new ATM network is already in operation with 20 ATMs in Athens and will quickly expand to other areas of the country to have at least 300 ATMs in the next 3 to 6 months.
Euronet has had a long-standing presence in Greece for more than 25 years, installing and operating today the country’s largest network of ATMs outside bank branches (off-site), which numbers more than 1,700 ATMs. At the same time, it works and develops the Payment Acceptance and Transaction Clearing sector under the trade name ‘ epay ‘ with more than 220,000 POS terminals and significant market shares in physical and electronic commerce.
In addition, Euronet is rapidly expanding its Money Transfer Network under the brand name Ria Money Transfer, which already operates with two identical retail stores in the centre of Athens and counts more than 200 service points in Greece, able to respond to more than 540,000 service points worldwide.
