Schoolchildren of Turkmenistan took part in the 19th International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, which ended the other day in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
According to the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”, representatives of the Turkmen team won 5 medals.
Rakhym Agamyradov from Ashgabat Secondary Specialized School No. 86 and Davut Muhammetgurbanov from Secondary Specialized School No. 46 of Ak Bugday etrap, Akhal velayat became the silver medal winners.
Bronze awards were awarded to Selim Halykov, tenth grade student of the Ashgabat specialized general boarding school named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi, Kerimguly Bendov, grade 11 student of the Ashgabat secondary specialized school No. 86 and Alikhan Zhumabaev, grade 11 student of the secondary specialized school No. 26 in Dashoguz.
The head of the national team, mathematics teacher of the Ashgabat Specialized Boarding School named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Arslan Khodjiev noted that this is a significant result achieved at such a representative and prestigious Olympiad as Zhautykovskaya, which annually brings together the strongest connoisseurs of exact subjects from different countries of the world.
Among the foreign participants of the Olympiad were representatives of such countries as Turkmenistan, Russia, Romania, Vietnam, Georgia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Germany, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, India, Indonesia and others.
In total, more than 1,200 students from 26 countries of the world became participants. Of these, 515 competed in mathematics, 341 in physics and 385 in computer science.
